How the Lighter referral code works: 10% rebate, 20% at Silver

Lighter is free to trade on a Standard account, so its 10% referral rebate only bites on paid accounts. See the tier rules, the weekly payout schedule and what the rebate is actually worth.

Lighter (app.lighter.xyz) is a decentralized trading platform built around a zero-fee Standard account, with opt-in paid account types for people who want lower latency or higher rate limits. Its referral program publishes real numbers, and the first thing to understand is that those numbers only apply to a minority of users. If you trade on Standard, you already pay nothing on regular orders, so a 10% fee rebate has nothing to discount. You can compare it with every other deal on our crypto referral codes page.

Quick answer

The ReferralLinks link is https://app.lighter.xyz/?referral=763853L7&source=none, and the code is 763853L7. A new user who signs up through it gets 10% off the fees they pay, rebated every Monday. The referrer earns a kickback on those fees: 10% at Bronze for everyone, rising to 20% at Silver once 15 unique referrals have each been active for 5+ days.

The catch worth repeating: on a Standard account, regular perpetual and spot orders have 0 maker and 0 taker fees. There is no fee to rebate. The program pays on fees that only exist if the referred trader either upgrades to a paid account or pays the 1 bp charge on advanced order types and RFQ.

What is Lighter, in plain words?

Lighter is a zk-based exchange that advertises verifiable order matching and liquidations, with performance pitched at the level of a centralized venue. It lists perpetual futures, spot and binary options.

The pricing model is the part that matters here. A Standard account pays no maker or taker fee on regular perpetual and spot orders, which is what makes the platform cheap to try. The trade-off is latency: 300 ms taker and cancel latency, against 140 ms for a Premium/Advanced account. If you are market making or racing, that difference is the product. If you are not, Standard is free and fine.

Beyond the free tier, the paid options are Premium/Advanced, with fees reduced by staking LIT, and Plus, a flat 0.5 bp maker/taker with much higher rate limits and up to 16 sub-accounts.

The fee table, so the percentages mean something

Premium/Advanced fees at zero stake are 0.0040% maker and 0.0280% taker. Staking LIT cuts both: 1,000 LIT takes 2.5% off, 10,000 takes 10%, 100,000 takes 20%, and 500,000 takes 30%, landing at 0.0028% maker and 0.0196% taker. Cancel and Post Only placement on this account type carry no extra latency.

Standard accounts pay 1 bp, meaning 0.01%, on TWAP and other advanced orders and on RFQ. Binary options have their own fee model. The referral docs say the fees paid to access advanced order types from a Standard account also count towards kickbacks, which is a sensible detail: those are real fees, so they are real base for a rebate.

Put a number on it. A Premium trader doing $1,000,000 of taker volume in a month at 0.0280% pays $280 in fees. At Bronze you earn 10%, or $28. At Silver, 20%, or $56. A Standard trader doing the same volume on regular orders pays nothing, and you earn nothing. That single comparison tells you who this program is actually for.

The tiers, and why Silver is a real hurdle

Bronze is available to everyone at 10%. Silver pays 20% and requires 15 unique referrals, each active for 5+ days, where active means the account has traded on at least 5 separate days.

Read the second condition literally: five separate trading days, not five trades. Fifteen referrals each trading on five distinct days is 75 trading-days of activity from people you personally brought in, and only accounts that signed up on or after the program start date count. That is a meaningful bar, and it is why most referrers stay at 10%.

Upgrades are reviewed manually and applied weekly on Mondays. Meeting the requirement makes you eligible, not entitled, and the docs say upgrades are granted at the platform's discretion. A new rate applies from the upgrade date forward on fees generated after it, never retroactively.

What the referred user actually gets

Sign up through a link and Lighter prompts you to take a 10% discount on the fees you pay, rebated every Monday. The discount attaches when the code is used at sign-up.

Two things follow. First, the discount is worthless if you never pay a fee, which is the normal Standard-account experience. Second, attribution is permanent: once a referral code is used, it cannot be changed or added later. If you sign up without one, no support ticket fixes it.

Payouts, and the $1 floor

Kickbacks and rebates are paid weekly as L2 transfers from 0x817645592D5f7BB7F4F1b027B7f5277f28d12805. Each Monday's payout covers the preceding week, Monday 00:00 UTC through Sunday 23:59 UTC, and the tier review uses the same snapshot.

There is a $1 minimum. That is a low floor compared with most programs, but it still matters at Bronze: with 10% of a paid trader's fees, a referral needs to generate $10 of fees before your share crosses a dollar. At 0.028% taker that is roughly $36,000 of taker volume from that one person. Worth knowing before you check the balance after a week.

The rules that can void everything

Everything in the program is discretionary, on both sides. Wash trading, self-referrals and any attempt to game the program lead to disqualification and forfeiture of pending rebates. Trades routed through partner attribution with non-zero integrator fees are excluded from both kickbacks and rebates, so volume that looks real on your statement may earn nothing.

Only referrals made on or after July 28, 2026 qualify, or older referred users sitting on a Standard account type. The platform can modify, suspend or terminate the program at any time. Nothing here is a contract.

How to start

Open the link on this page, or type app.lighter.xyz into the address bar and confirm the referral parameter reads 763853L7, then create the account. Do that before you deposit, because the code cannot be attached afterwards.

Then be honest with yourself about which account you need. If you are testing the platform, Standard is free and the rebate is irrelevant to you. If you are running the volume where 0.028% taker actually applies, you are the user this program was designed around, and the 10% is real. Check the first Monday payout to confirm the plumbing works before you scale.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Lighter referral code?

The ReferralLinks code is 763853L7, built into the link at https://app.lighter.xyz/?referral=763853L7&source=none. Use it at sign-up, because it cannot be added or changed later.

How much does the referred user save?

10% off the fees they pay, rebated every Monday. On a Standard account regular perp and spot orders have zero maker and taker fees, so the saving only appears on paid account types or on the 1 bp advanced-order and RFQ charges.

How much do I earn as a referrer?

10% of the gross fees your referred users pay at Bronze, and 20% at Silver. Silver requires 15 unique referrals, each having traded on at least 5 separate days, reviewed manually on Mondays.

When are payouts made?

Weekly, as L2 transfers, each Monday for the preceding Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 UTC week. The minimum payout is $1, and the sending address is 0x817645592D5f7BB7F4F1b027B7f5277f28d12805.

Can I change my referral code later?

No. Referral attribution is permanent once a code is used at sign-up. Signing up without one cannot be fixed afterwards.
