The basics
What is a crypto referral code?
A crypto referral code is a short string, usually letters and numbers, that tells an exchange or app which existing user invited you. You paste it into the sign-up form, or you open the referrer’s link with the code already inside it, and the platform records the attribution on your account. It is set once, at registration, and it stays attached for as long as the account exists.
What you get depends on the program. On Binance a code cuts spot and futures fees by 10% for as long as you trade. Polymarket runs a referral program where the link earns a share of the fees your referrals generate. Lighter pays a rebate as a percentage of the fee share. Some deals are a straight discount and others are a revenue share, and every card on our codes page says which one you are looking at.
Using a code costs you nothing. The fee you pay is the same or lower than it would be without one, because the platform pays the referrer out of its own margin. That is also why we can list everything for free and tell you exactly what each deal is worth.

Referral code questions
Do referral codes cost me anything?
No. You pay the same or a lower trading fee than an account without a code. The referrer is paid by the platform, not by you, and using our links never changes the price you see.
Can I add a code after I sign up?
Almost never. Attribution is written at registration and most platforms will not change it afterwards, so enter the code on the sign-up form before you deposit.
Are these codes safe to use?
A code is just a text label attached to your account. It is not a key and it grants no access to your funds. The risk sits with the platform, not the code, so read the guide and check the terms before depositing.
Why do some deals not show a discount?
A few platforms run invite-only or point-based rewards with no published percentage. Instead of inventing a number we label the card "no published rate" and link to what is actually known.
